Welcome to Hilldale United Methodist Church!
Loving God. Loving People. Making the world a better place.

For more than 70 years, Hilldale United Methodist Church has been a beacon of faith, hope, and service in the Clarksville community. What began as a dream among a small group of faithful Methodists on Madison Street has flourished into a thriving congregation, deeply rooted in the love of Christ and a commitment to sharing God’s grace with all.

In 1954, a vision to extend ministry to the growing community surrounding Hilldale took shape. Under the guidance of the Rev. Benjamin F. Binkley, Hilldale UMC was officially organized, meeting first in homes and later in a modest building on the present church site. From these humble beginnings, Hilldale has grown both in size and spirit, welcoming generations of worshippers into its sanctuary, offering vibrant worship, Christian education, and outreach to those in need.

Over the decades, Hilldale has weathered the challenges of change and transition, always holding firm to its mission of sharing God’s love. Former pastors, such as Dr. James H. Beasley, Jr. and Dr. Vincent Walkup, and many others have helped shape the church’s identity, offering spiritual leadership and inspiring the congregation to live out their faith in transformative ways. Through their guidance and the steadfast devotion of the laity, Hilldale UMC has not only grown in numbers but in its commitment to serve the community.

Today, Hilldale continues to honor its legacy while embracing a bold vision for the future. Led by Rev. Jefferson M. Furtado and Rev. Mary Kate Myers, the church is dedicated to deepening its impact on the lives of its members and the wider community. New ministries, outreach programs, and partnerships reflect Hilldale’s ongoing commitment to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Hilldale has always been a place where all are welcome, and that inclusive spirit is central to its mission as it looks ahead.

As we celebrate more than 70 years of ministry, Hilldale UMC stands at a pivotal moment in its history. This milestone is a reminder of how far we’ve come and an invitation to dream about what’s yet to be. Our church remains a dynamic and vibrant community where faith is nurtured, relationships are strengthened, and lives are transformed.

The future holds endless possibilities for Hilldale as we continue to listen for God’s call and seek new ways to share Christ’s love.

Rooted in our rich history and confident in the hope of what is to come, we invite you to be a part of this journey. Together, we can build on the foundation of those who came before us, leaving a legacy of faith for generations to come.

Come and join us as we honor our past, embrace the present, and step boldly into the future, trusting in God’s enduring grace and love.
