Good Neighbor Program

Our church is committed to being a Good Neighbor by being there for those in the community around us when they need a helping hand. We do this in many ways, but one of the ways is through our Good Neighbor Fund. This is a monthly Holy Communion offering that goes 100% to utility assistance for people living in Montgomery County.

Who is eligible & what do I need to bring to receive assistance?

Assistance is available for residents of Montgomery County. Picture ID and a copy of your Electricity or Gas & Water Bill are required.


You will complete an application that asks about your income, including food stamps, unemployment, SSI etc.

What can I get help with?

We have vouchers for Utilities in Montgomery County only:

CDE, CEMC, CUMBERLAND HEIGHTS UTILITIES, WOODLAWN UTILITIES, & CLARKSVILLE GAS & WATER.

 

We are unable to help with rent, fuel for your vehicle, bus passes / tickets, hotel rooms, or medication.

Do you help with utility deposits?

If you already have a lease agreement in writing, we are sometimes able to help with a voucher toward your deposit with CDE, CEMC, and CLARKSVILLE GAS & WATER. 


We would need to see a copy of your lease agreement.

How much assistance do you offer?

$25-50, depending on funds available.

When can I get help?

Good Neighbor will begin again on JUNE 23rd! Doors open at 9:00am

To maintain our social distancing and safety guidelines...

  • Masks should be worn when inside the building
  • Those needing assistance will be asked to wait before entering. Instruction will be given as you arrive.


2020 Dates

  • Due to COVID 19, our 2020 dates have changed. A list of dates will be added as they are confirmed.

How often can I get help?

There must be three complete months between your applications for

assistance. 


Example: If you receive a voucher in January, the next time you would be eligible April.
